At its most concentrated areas, the color is a strong, vivid turquoise with a slight lean towards blue, more aquatic shades that are reminiscent of tropical waters or a clear summer sky.

History:
Cobalt compounds have been used as blue colorants since ancient times, found in Egyptian pottery and Chinese porcelain. In 1802, French chemist Louis Jacques Thénard officially discovered and named the pigment "cobalt blue." 

The specific turquoise shade of cobalt blue likely emerged as artists and chemists experimented with cobalt pigments in the 19th and 20th centuries. Cobalt blue turquoise is typically created by modifying the standard cobalt aluminate (CoAl2O4) with additional elements like chromium or zinc to shift the hue towards green.
